The Story Behind the Spice

Pepper Tales is built on inherited recipes, a clay oven, and an uncompromising sourcing standard — all rooted in San Jose's Japantown.

We have tried lamb steak, corn cob and pepper tales all mix platter. They were delicious, corn on the cob and was delicious and worth the visit. Must try platter had a touch of desi tandoori chicken and tikka which we’re yummy and also the lamb chops. Fish and prawns were okay could have more spices over all it was amazing. The staff is very friendly.. just took one picture as we just dived in..

They have the best tandoori chicken in the South Bay . I have been there several times and each time they made the chicken perfect. They also have great curries and nans. They are definitely a gem in SJ downtown.

I don’t know where to begin!. Great costumer service absolutely amazing so welcoming. Very clean space to eat and sit which was also something I appreciated a lot. And lastly the food was outstanding bursting with so many flavors and they do a great job with spice level depending on if you love it or not. I’ve been back multiple times since and it’s become an every week thing for me now!.
